Project/Program Manager
SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
AlpharettaGeorgia Contract Sep 3, 2026

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Project/Program Manager to lead cross-functional business initiatives with a focus on business process automation, process improvement, stakeholder management, and project execution.

This role will serve as a primary project coordination and relationship-management contact between internal technical support, sales, engineering, and business teams. The Project Manager will coordinate incoming requests, establish priorities and deliverables, manage project plans, and provide clear communication regarding status, risks, decisions, and next steps.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on project leader who can manage multiple initiatives, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and drive projects through implementation and adoption.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead cross-functional projects from requirements gathering and planning through implementation and adoption.
  • Translate business needs into structured project plans with defined milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and ownership.
  • Manage multiple business process automation and process-improvement initiatives simultaneously.
  • Coordinate activities across business stakeholders, process owners, developers, technical teams, and leadership.
  • Facilitate meetings and ensure discussions result in clear decisions, owners, action items, and next steps.
  • Track project schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and commitments.
  • Identify project risks and escalate issues early with appropriate context and recommended options.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide clear, consistent project status communications.
  • Gather and document business requirements and support process mapping and workflow documentation.
  • Coordinate testing, implementation readiness, change management, and user adoption activities.
  • Maintain action-item logs, risk and issue logs, project documentation, and executive-level status reports.
  • Build strong working relationships across multiple functional and organizational teams.
  • Help stakeholders prioritize competing requests and maintain visibility into commitments and open actions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5–7+ years of project/program management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; an Associate's degree may be considered with additional relevant project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and driving projects through completion.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship-management experience.
  • Experience with business process improvement and/or business process automation projects.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, testing coordination, implementation planning, change management, and user adoption.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules, milestone plans, action-item logs, risk and issue logs, and executive-level status reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications used for project documentation, presentations, collaboration, and reporting.
  • Experience creating or interpreting process maps and workflow documentation using Visio or similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, managers, technical contributors, and business users.
  • Ability to influence project participants and obtain commitments without direct authority.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMP or PMI certification.
  • Experience managing projects involving Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, databases, workflow systems, or similar business automation technologies.
  • Experience working with developers or analysts on workflow and automation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with dashboard reporting and performance measures.
  • Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT), implementation readiness, change control, and solution adoption.
  • Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or iterative project environments.
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, industrial, Oil & Gas, or Mining organizations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is more than a project coordinator. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated ownership of project outcomes and can actively manage dependencies, risks, decisions, stakeholders, and cross-functional deliverables.

Strong candidates may have held titles such as Project Manager, Program Manager, Business Process Project Manager, Business Transformation Project Manager, Process Improvement Project Manager, or Account Manager with significant project-management responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in situations where requirements may initially be undefined, bringing structure to projects, driving accountability, and ensuring communication loops are closed rather than simply documenting project status.

IMPORTANT

This is a full-time onsite position with potential domestic travel. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite and should have demonstrated responsibility for project outcomes—not experience limited primarily to scheduling, status reporting, administrative coordination, or technical development.
