Project Manager – Supplier Resourcing / Procurement
East Peoria, IL | On-Site | 24-Month Contract
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide project oversight for urgent supplier resourcing initiatives. This position will work closely with Purchasing, Procurement, Engineering, and senior leadership to coordinate supplier-related projects, identify opportunities to accelerate the movement of demand, and escalate resource constraints when necessary.
This is a highly visible role offering broad exposure across Procurement and Engineering teams, including interaction with VP-level leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide project management oversight for urgent supplier resourcing initiatives.
- Work closely with Purchasing teams to manage supplier resourcing projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, establish priorities, and coordinate activities required to achieve project goals.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate supplier transitions and movement of demand.
- Track project progress, resource requirements, risks, issues, and deliverables.
- Identify resource constraints and professionally escalate critical issues to senior leadership.
- Lead and participate in weekly project meetings for individual suppliers.
- Coordinate activities across Purchasing, Engineering, production, management, and other stakeholders.
- Present project proposals, reports, status updates, and findings to stakeholders and leadership.
- Analyze resource needs and project requirements to assess feasibility and support decision-making.
- Review and recommend contracts and cost estimates as needed.
- Ensure effective communication and alignment across project teams and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Candidates with an Associate degree and 10 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
- Strong experience managing complex projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to professionally escalate issues to senior leadership.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Understanding of production processes, manufacturing, quality, cost, and/or supply chain operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMI or PMP certification.
- Experience supporting procurement, purchasing, supplier management, supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering projects.
- Experience managing supplier-related projects in a large manufacturing environment.
- Experience communicating project risks, constraints, and recommendations to executive-level stakeholders.
Work Environment
This is a full-time on-site position in East Peoria, Illinois. Some travel may be required, primarily to Aurora, Illinois.
