Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

12 month contract
Hybrid onsite 3 days a week

Position's Contributions to Work Group

  • Senior SDET – Extend testing automation framework using JAVA/JAVA Script
  • Take ownership in understanding business requirements/ACs and develop test strategy/test plan
  • Develop automation test cases using existing automation framework

Typical Day or Week in the Role

  • Develop test automation code for CI/CD systems, infrastructure, and test frameworks.
  • Plan, design, develop, and maintain API test automation frameworks.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring for test engineers on onshore and offshore teams.
  • Coordinate with Product Owners to resolve issues, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Develop automated functional scripts using Java, Karate, and JMeter.
  • Perform exploratory and manual testing as appropriate.
  • Provide expertise in testing methodologies, best practices, and standards.
  • Interaction with team: Team of 20+ members.
  • Work environment: Hybrid, Chicago office.

Education & Experience Required

  • 8–10 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience.

Required Technical Skills

  • Java (3–5 years)
  • Cucumber (3–5 years), JBehave or other BDD frameworks
  • 8+ years designing test automation frameworks
  • REST API testing
  • Test scripts, test cases, and test data
  • SQL
  • JMeter performance testing
  • Full-stack and third-party integration testing
  • End-to-end system integration testing
