Senior Backend Integration Engineer

Job Description

Develop, create, and modify enterprise applications and specialized software to improve operational efficiency.
Modify existing software, analyze user requirements, and design solutions within time and cost constraints.
Coordinate software installation and monitor system performance.
Design, develop, and enhance software systems using analytical models.
Recommend computer specifications, layouts, hardware, and software improvements.
Consult with customers and collaborate with analysts, engineers, and programmers throughout the SDLC.

Build platform integrations across NVIDIA, simulation systems, and Digital Twin environments.
Primary focus on backend microservices and API integration (Python preferred).
Develop REST/gRPC APIs, cloud-native services, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
Support backend engineering, cloud integrations, debugging, and AI-enabled development.
Reason for request: New headcount (Addition).

Work on next-generation autonomy, simulation, NVIDIA, and Digital Twin platforms.
Influence platform architecture and enterprise-scale integrations.
Help shape Caterpillar's future autonomous and digital ecosystem.

Build backend microservice APIs for simulation and Physical AI.
Design REST, gRPC, and event-driven APIs.
Develop integration adapters using AI coding platforms and Spec Driven Development.
Support Digital Twin asset exchange and asynchronous workflows.
Manage artifact storage, observability, testing, CI/CD, and cloud-native architecture.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, NVIDIA partners, Scrum teams, and platform engineers.
Team includes Product Owner, Scrum Master, Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Backend Engineers, Cloud Engineer, QA.
Office work environment.

5+ years of experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
Internships do not count toward required experience.
